Overview

At CKE Photography I create child portraits that reflect a certain style and ideal.

Children exhibit a wonderful and complex array of moods and expressions. My portraits aim to capture and express this range.

In this way, I aim to not only make beautiful portraits but also help preserve richer memories.

This style is probably best represented by seeing. Feel free to browse the gallery, take a look at the FAQs below and also our products and costs.

If you like what you see and want to discuss a photoshoot, or if have further questions, please get in touch either by phone or email.

QUICK FAQs

1. What will a photoshoot cost and what does it include?

There is a fee for the photoshoot of £140.

Included in this fee is an approximately 2hr photoshoot, travel (up to 1hr from central London), image by image post processing. And, of course, rent of my artistic temperament!!

After that the choice of product to purchase depends on what you want from the photoshoot.

Would you like portraits to hang on the wall, prints to keep or send to relatives, a book for posterity perhaps? Or are you more interested in the creative potential of digital images on a DVD?

The choice is mindboggling so I try and keep the options relatively simple. Please take a look at the prices and products page – but as a quick example, our most popular products are a 16 x 12 inch canvas at £170, or a DVD with 50 images at £180.

I do believe it is useful to have a good idea of what you want from the photoshoot before we start. That way I can tailor the shoot to meet your specific requirements.

Naturally stating an idea of what you want in no way commits you to anything or restricts your options – it is just a rough direction and framework to direct the process.

2. What can I expect?

The photoshoot takes place at a location of your choice – usually your home or an outdoor area (or a combination).

In general you can expect a photoshoot that is informal, loosely scripted and whose tempo is primarily dictated by you and the children.

It will last around two hours.

It is important for everyone to be comfortable with the experience. To this end I take a good amount of time at the beginning making sure all (children and adults) are comfortable with having me and the camera as part of the environment.

After that your task is to merely do whatever you want to do – play, feed, read, snooze, pose, whatever you desire.

My task is to capture portraits within this framework.

After the photoshoot it is time to develop the photos. This is like in the days in the darkroom except now all the work is carried out on the computer. This is an integral stage in the process – the combination of state of the art software and my technical and aesthetic sense (i can’t find a way to write this without cringing but this is a reason why you choose me over another) transform pictures to portraits.

I pride myself on the individual consideration I give to each portrait.

Once this is completed we can arrange an appointment to look through the results and discuss the choices available. There is no commitment on your part to purchase anything. The aim is purely to enjoy the results.

3. Can you tell me a bit about you and your photography?

You can read the about me section in the menu above for my photographic ethos, browse the commercial blog here, or take a look at my  personal photography work.

4. Ok, sounds good. What now?

This is the easy bit – pick up the phone and call me or drop me an email and we’ll take it from there.
